Regardless of mileage, please let us know if you plan to take the vehicle out of state so we're aware. This way, we can continue to provide you with the best service.
What should I do if I lost an item?
After a trip, please check the vehicle thoroughly for any belongings before returning it. Unfortunately, we are not responsibe for any items left behind.
Will the car be disinfected?
Yes, the car will be cleaned before your trip as per Turo's guidelines. We take pride in keeping our vehicles very clean and in great condition!
Is the vehicle non-smoking?

Kindly help us keep our vehicles in good condition and avoid smoking in the vehicle. Cigarettes, cigars, weed, vaping, e-cigs, drugs, etc. are strictly prohibited. An additional $150 smoking fee plus 3% processing fee will be incurred if you smoke in the vehicle and a $250 cleaning fee will be assessed if this rule is violated.
How far may I drive the vehicle?
Many of our vehicles have unlimited mileage available. Only the vehicles with a limited number of miles will require you to pay for the extra miles. When this happens, you will be billed after your trip based on the odometer recorded at the start and end of your trip.

Am I covered by insurance while driving the vehicle?

When I return the vehicle, how much fuel or battery charge should it have?
Please return the vehicle with a full tank of gas or the same level as when you picked up the vehicle for your trip. For your convenience, we can refuel the vehicle and bill you the cost of fuel with a $10 convenience fee.
Please return with at least 60% battery level. You may purchase a Prepaid EV Recharge for $35 to avoid fees.
0%–20% charge = $50 critically low battery fee
21%–50% charge = $20 low battery fee
51%–59% charge = $10 low battery fee*
*51%-79% charge = $10 low battery fee for Nikki Tesla Model 3
60%–100% charge = No fee*
*80%-100% charge = No fee for Nikki Tesla Model 3
On rare occasions, a vehicle may have just come from a trip where it may have less than full tank or charge. If this happens to you when you pick up the car, it's acceptable for you to return the vehicle with the same or better fuel level or battery charge. Please make sure you take pictures of the fuel level or charge and upload to your trip.

Where can I park my car when I pick up or drop off your vehicle?
Convenient street parking is available on Elm Street where you may leave your vehicle safely during your trip or when dropping off our vehicles. Kindly refrain from parking in the Stephen's Plumbing parking lot.
What happens when I drive through a tollway?
The vehicle comes with an I-Pass transponder. Please do not bring your own. The I-Pass is good for Illinois tollways and 17 other states via the E-Z Pass system. You are responsible for paying for any tolls incurred during your trip. We will bill you after your trip.
Can I use my own I-Pass on the vehicle?
No. The vehicle is already associated with an I-Pass. After your trip, we will send you a bill and a list of toll charges that you incurred during your trip.
What incidentals might I incur?
Common incidentals drivers must pay for include but are not limited to:
Refueling or low EV battery
Tesla Supercharger costs
Toll charges
Mileage cost for additional distance
Parking or traffic violation tickets
Late returns and additional use
Impound costs
Vehicle damages
We list some of the fees and penalties that we charge below. We do our best to bill you for any charges as soon as we are aware, typically within 3 days after the trip, but sometimes it may take longer depending on the type of incidentals.
What fees or penalties do you charge?
$25 replacement fee for any lost or broken phone mounts
$150 smoking fee plus 3% processing fee for smoking cigars, cigarettes, marijuana, etc. in the vehicle
$250 cleaning fee to remove smoke, odors, stains, etc. or clean excessively dirty vehicles upon return
Fuel costs when vehicles are not returned with a full tank of gas
$10 convenience fee to refuel gas-powered or hybrid vehicles in addition to fuel costs if returned with low fuel
$10-$50 low battery fees if an electric vehicle is returned with less than 60% charge (see EV Guide)
$50 replacement fee for any lost or broken Tesla phone mounts
$100 replacement fee for any lost or broken Level 2 adapters
$250 replacement fee for any lost or broken Tesla USB drive required for dashcam
$350 replacement fee for any lost or broken Home Charging kits
$500 FSD penalty fee in the event a Tesla becomes disabled due to driver inattentiveness and the resulting loss of access to the feature
$2,500+ charging port repair fees if damage is caused to the charging port when forcing it out of the socket
$10,000+ battery damage fees if damage is caused to the battery when leaving vehicle at less than 20% charge overnight
What do I do if I get a flat tire?
If needed, you can get roadside assistance to get towed to the nearest Discount Tire. You must contact Turo to get roadside assistance.
You must replace the tires with the same brand.
Most of our vehicles come with a Discount Tire replacement certificate, which lets you get a replacement tire at a reduced cost. While Turo strives to offer reliable assistance nationwide, remote or less-serviced regions may have extended wait times.

How do I remove the charging cable from the Tesla charge port?
Use the disconnect button from the car or on the charging cable. Once the LED is white, that means it is ready to disconnect.
🚫🔌 Please do not force the charging cable in or out of the socket. This may break the connection. Charge port repairs due to damage can cost $2,500 or more.
What do I do if the Tesla touchscreen becomes unresponsive?
